Student Assistants for Application Lifecycle Management

Student Assistants for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Project Migration

The Task

As part of migration/separation project, all customers’ ALM Quality Center Projects will be migrated from the current installation of ALM Quality Center to a new installation dedicated to customer. It will be an installation that runs on the same version as the old one, that is, no upgrade or conversion is necessary.

What needs to be done is to export projects from the existing installation (either QCP or SQL/DB export of the projects) and import the projects on the new installation (i.e. both on the server, as well as getting the project to run on the new ALM installation).

A detailed guide will be made, and migration must be documented by following a step-by-step guide (test) in Quality Center.

It is expected that the student assistants themselves can take the dialogue with stakeholders (Project Owners, Project, etc.), in connection with agreeing project downtime, and the like.

Profile

  • Preferably technical background/education, experience with logging on to a server and executing simple scripts (based on an instruction)
  • Follow a step-by-step guide very accurately.
  • Experience with, and desire to have stakeholder dialogue: E.g. coordinating with project manager, users, etc. in relation to shutting down projects prior to migration.
  • Some experience with/interest in documentation (based on precise instruction)

Hourly consumption

Current estimate is 300 hours with expected start date June 2024.

The hours will be discussed and agreed with the Product Manager to ensure that the documentation meets the requirements and expectations of the project. The hours may be adjusted based on the feedback and changes in the scope of the work.

Please note that we will be evaluating applications and inviting candidates for interviews on an ongoing basis.
