Your team
Your role
- define and review oversight policies, frameworks, methodologies and procedures, coordinating input from various sources to ensure that strategic and diverse perspectives are taken into account;
- assess pan-European systemically important payment systems and/or securities settlement systems against applicable regulations and oversight expectations, including in relation to operational performance, risk developments and technical changes;
- assess the risks to payment and/or securities settlement systems arising from third-party service providers and cyber threats;
- analyse the impact on payment and/or securities settlement systems from regulatory changes, market developments or emerging risks in the area of payments and financial market infrastructures;
- organise and conduct meetings with overseen entities, market participants or other authorities;
- work with colleagues from other ECB business areas and counterparts in various European and international authorities;
- represent the Oversight Division in various working groups and European or international fora;
- ensure the ECB’s values are reflected in your daily work and interactions with others, and guide and coach trainees and junior colleagues.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- a master’s degree or equivalent in business administration, economics, finance, STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences);
- in addition to the above, a minimum of three years’ professional experience in one or more of the following fields: oversight, supervision, policy or operations of financial market infrastructures or related entities;
- a thorough understanding of the financial system, including its regulatory and supervisory framework;
- a sound understanding of the payments/securities settlement ecosystem and the latest innovations;
- a good understanding of financial and operational risk management;
- proven experience in drafting and presenting complex dossiers for internal and external audiences;
- an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
- proven experience in conducting risk analysis in the field of financial market infrastructures;
- experience in building and managing relationships with various stakeholders.
