DevOps Engineer



On behalf of Novozymes we seek an ambitious, skilled DevOps engineer to participate in system development and operation on a Linux platform.

You will acquire experience working in a mixed Linux Development and Operations Team in the world leading company within biological solutions and be a part of a large international research organization.

Your profile
You have excellent skills developing in Python and is experienced working in a Linux environment.

In addition to the above mentioned, you:

  • Have a recently graduated Master’s degree within the area of IT.
  • Have a strong focus on automation, monitoring and internal documentation
  • Are a strong communicator

The final user of the applications are typically chemists, scientists etc., emphasizing the need for continuous communication throughout the development process – and a general interest in learning about the science of our users.

It is an advantage, not a must, if you possess knowledge regarding technologies such as:

  • Airflow
  • Presto
  • Experience with Hadoop stack
  • Solr
  • Nagios or similar monitoring systems
  • Kerberos

A stimulating work day
You will be part of a team of 25 colleagues with academic backgrounds within the field of Computer Science and IT. The department is responsible for operating the computing infrastructure for Novozymes R&D across the globe. You will contribute to build automated data pipelines, that support scientists work.

The typical work day will be varied and contain everything from developing system integration, analysis and change management to putting new machines up in operation.

You will typically have 1-3 months of projects working on one or two projects at the time. To make sure the application fits the needs of the scientist, communication is an important part of this position.

The department takes a Kanban-inspired approach to agile development and your projects will be distributed on weekly meetings followed up by morning meetings.

The department collaborates with Research & Discovery as well as R & D parts of the organization and supports systems used by approximately 700 employees.
