Postdoc with Science Background to Analyze Complex Network Trajectories

Copenhagen Business School invites applications for 1 Postdoc Position with a background in Computer Science, Network Science, Physics, Computational Social Science or related fields at the Department of Organization. Expected starting date is January 1 2021.

The Post Doc position is time-limited for 2 years and connected to the research activities of the three-year Carlsberg Foundation project “NetCareers – Careers through Complex Networks” led by Associate Professor Lasse Folke Henriksen. The post may be extended. The Post Doc will work on modeling complex life course trajectory networks of complete population cohorts in high income countries, focusing on career mobilities and stratification outcomes. Using large scale administrative data sets from high income countries, the project models the movement of people through institutions and organizations over the life and links these networked trajectories to outcomes such as status, wages, wealth and health. The NetCareers project assembles an inter-disciplinary team of researchers from the sciences and social sciences to develop new techniques for studying complex network trajectories and their outcomes. The team is embedded at the Department of Organization at Copenhagen Business School, and the Postdoc will be working in collaboration with the team.

Read about the project here.

The Post Doc will be subject to a formal annual performance review. The position may include minor teaching activities in the context of the Department's teaching portfolio and the successful candidate will be offered an opportunity to qualify for CBS’ teacher certification.

Excellent academic record and work ethic required. Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills required. Enthusiasm for research required. The ideal candidate will be thinking of this position as a platform to build skills towards taking on a research professorship in the future.
