To reinforce the formulation and deployment of our Global QHSE&E Strategy, we are currently looking for a Portfolio & Strategy Manager who will be responsible of strengthening the efficiency of our Global QHSE&E project portfolio by continuously assessing the portfolio and project feasibility to reach the desired target. You will report to Senior Manager Strategy & Projects Global QHSE&E, and being part of the management team in Global QHSE&E, you will play a key role in prioritizing and setting the strategic direction of Global QHSE&E initiatives and how to execute on these, and you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high complexity projects across our global organization.

Your challenges
Joining our Global QHSE&E organization, you will head a team of three project managers in our Strategy, Projects & Portfolio Management Team focusing on executing on our global, strategic QHSE&E projects. As the manager of this team, you will continuously develop your team members and provide guidance when dealing with challenging cross functional projects. As we are dealing with a very extensive and high complexity project portfolio, a key responsibility of yours will be to have a cross functional holistic view and to make sure that we utilize the portfolio resources in the best possible way by making the right prioritization of projects.

More specifically, you will:

  • Communicate with (senior) leadership and other stakeholders on program strategy, direction, changes, risks and overall status
  • Ensure integration of the projects in the program and report on scope, timing, and budgets as needed
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop plans for eliminating or mitigating the risks identified at a portfolio, program level
  • Provide Strategy Management consultancy to the organization when faced by complex problems that they cannot solve themselves
  • Act as a lean manager including uncovering optimization initiatives and ensure implementation through onsite lean managers in the global network.
  • Oversee and manage large, complex, diverse and strategic projects or programs.

As this is a role with a global scope and responsibility, you should expect some amount of international travel activity. For the same reason, we imagine that you will be based at our location in Østbirk, but this position can potentially be based at one of other locations in Denmark or Europe.

Your qualifications
As a person, you are proactive with a can-do attitude and an energy that inspires. You bring some experience in being a team manager, and you naturally take the lead and motivate and develop the whole project team on a day-to-day basis. With your agile mindset, you are able to deal with change leadership successfully.

You are an exceptionally strong communicator with natural skills of building working relationships which enables you to work across the organization and operate in a matrix-like organization. Being used to having multiple contact points internally and externally and with your assertive and diplomatic personality, you excel at teamwork and managing your stakeholders – even in situations with conflicts and opposing interests, and you utilize your communication skills to influence and getting people onboard when new initiatives are being implemented.

We imagine that you have a degree in business, strategy, project management or a similarly relevant area, but most importantly, we expect that you bring several years of proven experience in managing medium to high complexity, strategic and cross-functional projects. This has provided you with solid planning and project management skills and a superb ability to oversee and manage large, complex, diverse and strategic projects. You have strong analytical skills and the ability to challenge conventional thinking, and you bring advanced skills in risk assessment and mitigation.

You must be open towards a certain amount of international travelling, and due to the global scope, you must speak and write English at a professional level.
