You will play an important role in:
As a new colleague in our Piping Systems and Layout group, you will build up technical knowledge of key piping systems for both existing and next generation engines. This means that you will maintain existing designs and develop new ones, while ensuring that all technical documentation meets the required standards.

A typical day could start with reviewing and handle technical questions from our engine‑building licensees, maybe for better understanding of a specific situation or problem solving. This could be followed by a design review into, or a verification of, a system within your area of responsibility. This done in close collaboration with your colleagues.

You will coordinate and negotiate ideas across departments and work to ensure that solutions meet technical, operational, and classification (regulatory / standard) requirements. You will work with highly reliable systems within the mechanical and hydraulic field, where attention to detail matters. You will help bring ideas from early concepts through detailed design and into service. Along the way, you will continuously discuss, review, and refine designs together with experienced colleagues - sharing knowledge, challenging ideas, and help to make practical solutions.

You will over time become the responsible designer for specific areas and be the “go to” person for your nearest colleagues and customers. When experienced, you are expected to participate in various projects, where you either as an expert in your own area or as a department representative, will help us develop our new technologies or rebuild the existing fleet to greener fuel types with higher efficiency. Thus, following our strategy.

• Have a background in mechanical or hydraulic systems or have an interest and curiosity in this area
• Have the interest and willingness to investigate/locate fields of regulatory such as classification rules, IMO rules, ISO / JIS / DIN / Ansi standards as part of your design work
• Are communicative and enjoy advocating for your own area of ​​responsibility
• Have the curiosity and willingness to continuously develop and improve
• Are good at cooperating and accomplishing your goals together with others but also independently
• Thrive in working with technical communication and 3D modeling
• Can handle technical ownership and have the “stamina” to follow through, to make it right

Welcome to the Piping Systems and Layout team
In the group for Piping Systems and Layout we speak English and you will be part of a team that consists of 18 people with various backgrounds, educations and nationalities. Engineers, production technologists and technical designers. The design work takes place in cross-functional teams with a wide range of competences, as well as in smaller teams within the department. We have our own test facilities in Copenhagen, but are also collaborating with our partners in East Asia and with ships in service. Our engines are produced in Japan, South Korea and China. Therefore, a few weeks of traveling to these countries may be expected.

In the group for piping systems and Layout, we are passionate, ambitious and love what we do. We design components to make our engines more efficient, with less environmental footprint. In general we provide the piping Layout on the engine i.e. dimensioning, calculation, design and placement of all larger piping systems.​

We provide design knowledge, guidance and system understanding within: Liquid & gas fuel supply together with systems for, oil, air and water.​ Besides Designing & Developing for new orders and for retrofit. We handle our own R&D including calculations within FEM, Simsolid & CFD.​ We can assist with specific designs, calculations on weldings and vibrations. In cooperation with other departments, and our customers, we take concepts and ideas and turn them into commercial design, ready for production.
