About the job
We offer you a position as Global Sales Manager in our global sales organization, where you are the ‘go to’ person in developing and executing the global sales strategy. You run the tactical leadership for our Heating Systems solutions in close collaboration with your colleagues and teams in our sales companies, as well as the shipowners and shipyards all over the world. You will be working within the whole shipbuilding industry.

Other responsibilities are:

  • Developing and implementing sales strategies hereunder launching new offerings
  • Develop sales and marketing tools and ensure training and education of our sales colleagues
  • Engage directly with global ship owning community and represent Alfa Laval externally
  • Establish quarterly and annual sales objectives for the team, ensuring they are ambitious yet achievable, and take proactive measures to ensure the team executes and succeeds in meeting these targets.
  • Improve customer satisfaction by ensuring valuable feedback and adjusting initiatives accordingly
  • Continuously strengthen our market position
  • Engage actively and make meaningful contributions to our Global Sales Management Team, dedicating approximately 20% of your time to this collaborative effort.

More about you and the job
You will be stationed at our headquarters in Aalborg, Denmark, and should anticipate 50-60 travel days annually, strategically visiting shipyards and engaging with shipowners alongside our local sales offices globally. Leading a team of five sales managers, you'll orchestrate our endeavors with a keen eye on strategic growth and business acumen, while also demonstrating tactical strength to challenge the status quo and drive the business forward independently.

Your portfolio will comprise of the Business Unit Heat & Gas systems products, focusing on core products areas like boiler systems, thermal oil systems, and waste heat recovery systems. Moreover, you'll champion our latest offerings in emerging fuel technologies such as gas burning, methanol burning, and the innovative ORC systems, which efficiently convert excess heat energy into electricity.

In addition to embodying a proactive, outgoing, and optimistic outlook, we're seeking someone with a robust background in the marine industry who can navigate its intricacies adeptly. Your organizational prowess, confidence, and adept communication skills will be paramount. Moreover, a deep-seated multicultural understanding and a commitment to going above and beyond to cater to our global clientele are essential traits we value. Your ability to think strategically, challenge conventional wisdom, and drive initiatives forward with self-motivation will be key to success in this role.

In the role you will report directly to VP & Head of Global Sales for BU HGS.

What you know
You have a background as an or sales profile with technical flair. Your experience comes from the marine industry or similar, and you are motivated by increasing sales, building strong relationships with colleagues and customers. You have excellent people skills and know how to develop others. Your communication and language skills match working in a complex global organization.
