Renewable Energy Project Manager, UK

European Energy A/S

Would you like a challenging career with a high degree of development and responsibilities in a green company with rapid growth? Does it motivate you to be on the frontline of the renewable energy business? Would you like to build utility-scale solar PV projects? Then come and join us!

European Energy is a green energy company experiencing exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate wind and solar PV projects globally and are at the forefront of the emerging green hydrogen/Power-to-X sectors. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and Courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your New Team- At a Glance
You will be a part of European Energy UK Limited, consisting of 20 colleagues working principally from our office in Glasgow. You will also work closely with our HQ in Copenhagen, Denmark, specifically with the EPC Department.

We are a committed and motivated team where knowledge sharing, trust, and open dialogues describe the very core of our collaboration. Our project pipeline in the UK is in rapid growth, and you will be hands-on in many technical, organizational, and commercial aspects with the opportunity to develop professionally and take on more responsibility over time.

Your New Role- Accelerate your Career
As our new Renewable Energy Project Manager you will deliver utility-scale solar (PV) projects in the UK. In due course, we also expect the delivery of energy storage, onshore wind, and Power-to-X projects to form part of the UK portfolio.

Working within the structure of the newly released European Energy Project Management Model (PMM) you will receive projects once they have passed each stage gate (received planning consent, grid/land agreements secured, strategy defined for offtake and financing). You will be responsible and accountable for projects during the structuring and construction phases, before handing over asset management.

You will see yourself in an environment with many interesting tasks. You have solid interpersonal skills to negotiate with local suppliers, and service providers, and communicate with stakeholders such as subcontractors, lenders, off-takers, etc.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, contractors, and the risk team, to maintain the highest standards of H&S and Quality on the project
  • Drive EPC activities and deliverables (Grid, Design, Structural, Electrical, Procurement), chair regular team meetings, and ensure that minutes and actions are issued
  • Drive financial management of projects and approvals of invoices
  • Work closely with the construction team and conduct site visits before and during construction to monitor construction progress, identify risks, and meet contractors
  • Ensure compliance with the various permits, land leases, grid connection, finance, off-taker, and other agreements in line with key performance indicators, performance monitoring systems, output specifications, and contractual requirements
  • Construction, Sponsor, PPA, Off-taker, and SPV Reporting as required by the project agreements (progress, CAPEX, risks, HSE)

Prerequisite to Succeed in the Job

  • You have a bachelor's in Engineering, Project Management, or have equivalent experience
  • You have a proven track record of project management, ideally with grid-connected solar projects during the construction phase
  • You have strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety Legislation
  • You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
  • You have a valid UK driving license
  • You are willing to travel throughout the UK (primarily) and to our head office in Denmark (periodically)
  • You have a proactive and diligent approach

We Offer

  • We promote a collaborative, inclusive, diverse, and supportive culture where you can grow, develop, and contribute to a profitable, growing, and successful global group
  • We have an entrepreneurial and agile approach to our work. In daily life, it means it is not far from thought to action, and when you are given a mandate, we trust in your abilities
  • We have a shared vision for the green transition, and what we do as a company, we do together.
  • We organize social events, network opportunities, and annual company trips for all colleagues globally, where we connect and promote an engaged and vibrant workplace together
  • We offer remote work options and flexible working hours
