If so, you might be the Logistics Manager we are looking for to join the newly established Central Distribution Center (CDC) team in Houston, Texas. We have an ambitious agenda, and your primary focus will be to ensure the high quality of our deliveries - naturally, on time.

Based in Houston, Texas, you will be part of Global Logistics & Sourcing and report to the Global Customer Logistics Director, located at the headquarters in Esbjerg, Denmark.

If you have a passion for logistics and a proven track record in managing complex supply chains, you could be the one we are looking for to drive and build up the CDC in Houston - operating from January 2025.

About the position
As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that we remain Best in Class and that our deliveries always function smoothly. The position will involve a strong focus on leadership and development of the department, but we also expect a hands-on approach to daily operations.

Since it is a newly established location, you will participate in the recruitment process of the new team, expected to be 5-6 employees. (for office functions – all warehousing is outsourced for 3rd party and you and the team will be placed at their location)

Primary tasks include:

  • Ensuring optimal collaboration within the departments and across the organization
  • Daily management of department employees and 4 sub-departments, including:
    • Logistics Support
    • Stock management
    • Exchange concept of assets
    • Shipping
  • Close cooperation with 3rd party warehouse operations
  • Ensuring department project plans, action and task lists are updated, and deadlines are met
  • Regional contract logistics (within Road and Courier) – negotiations and development
  • Daily logistic support operations – being the first point of contact for all incoming orders
  • Achieving best-in-class delivery performance and conducting root cause analysis

We will, of course, ensure that you receive thorough training to match the need in the position.

Approximately 20-30 global travel days per year must be expected.

Your entry into the position
The ideal person has experience in the role of Logistics Manager, preferably from the transport or freight forwarding industry. Experience in commercial logistics and shipping is a clear advantage, but not a requirement.

We expect you to have a structured approach and work with the premise of creating the most business value. Initiative and independent decision-making are also a natural part of your work style.

As a person, you are empathetic and a team player who can motivate and build trusting relationships - visible and present leadership is highly prioritized.

Additionally, we prefer if you have;

  • Strong leadership skills and able to navigate in a brand new setup where some processes are being built as we go
  • Experience working with 3rd party warehousing
  • A hands on approach and able to support the team in peak seasons - could especially be transport bookings
