We are looking for an aspiring Trading Analyst with a mindset of an analyst ready to find the next trading edge in the European power markets. You will be joining our ambitious UK power team with experienced colleagues that are ready to teach you the in and outs of power trading. Do you want to do market analysis, develop trading strategies and finally put your work into effect by execute the trading strategies in the power markets? The job as Junior Trading Analyst
As Junior Trading Analyst in MFT Energy, you will take part in everyday trading and help develop trading strategies and models for the European markets. The workday is structured with 50% trading and 50% analysis with close corporation with you team members. The power trading team is a small dedicated team ready to welcome you and support you in your development to becoming a successful Trading Analyst.

Your key responsibilities

• Daily trading and optimization of trading positions
• Developing and implementing trading strategies
• Building and maintaining quantitative model
• Risk evaluation
• Always questioning the status quo
• Applying insight to optimize and rethink automated trading tools
• Developing projects and implementing these with support from our specialist colleagues and support team

Your qualifications and personal skills
Working as a trader involves using your analytical abilities to interpret complex market data, while maintaining a strong eye for detail and trends, and making quick, well-informed decisions under pressure. Therefore, becoming a successful trader depends not only on your professional capabilities but also on your personal competencies.

We imagine that you:

• Have a master’s degree in economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance.
• ... Or have experience with etc. stock trading, or similar that gives you competencies relevant to trading
• Are competitive by nature, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Are a strong team player with the ability to work independently
• Are a quick learner of complex datasets and methods
• Have excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
• Have some computer coding skills and modelling experience.
