The Position
As a Metal Component Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes for the metal components used in our drug delivery systems. You will use a risk-based approach to ensure the safety of our products and ultimately our patients.
Participation in the global support of Novo Nordisk manufacturing lines is also part of the role. This means that your experience and knowledge will benefit colleagues at sites all over the world, and a large support network of experienced experts can be relied upon when solving the challenges of the new job.
In this role, travelling to suppliers’ offices globally is expected up to 20 days per year.
Your main focus will be on:
• Developing and maintaining right technical solutions based on a well-documented set of requirements, in collaboration with product owners, assembly lines colleagues, Quality Assurance (QA) colleagues and external suppliers.
• Supporting the validation of manufacturing processes based on the requirements that are critical to the quality of the produced metal components.
• Handling deviations and continuous improvement projects using systematic problem solving and LEAN.
• Reviewing the design of new metal device components and challenging specifications based on manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have:
• A master’s degree in mechanical, materials/metallurgical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
• Preferably 2-3 years of working experience in the development of manufacturing processes for metal components.
• Familiarity with change control, documentation requirements and risk-based approach within medical device production or has relevant experience from similar industries, which is considered a plus.
• Experience with LEAN and systematic problem solving, which is considered an advantage.
• Full professional proficiency in both spoken and written English.

About the Department
Finished Product Manufacturing: Science and Technology (FPMSAT) Department is responsible for the manufacturing development of all devices and packaging-related processes. We explore new technologies, including robotics, for future production and operate a production unit for clinical production and process optimization. We take great pride in our diverse and talented team, where over 700 dedicated employees from more than 48 different nationalities work together to achieve our goals and drive change.
You will be joining a team of highly skilled colleagues in an international environment in Novo Nordisk FPMSAT facility in Hillerød. In close collaboration with our suppliers, we are developing the equipment and processes that transform great designs into actual products for our patients, bridging the gap between development departments and the production lines.
