Japanese Speaking Senior Architect/Project Leader - Sydney

As an international design studio, 3XN designs, develops and delivers ambitious and transformative architecture. In Australia, this includes the multi-award-winning design for Quay Quarter Tower and the new Sydney Fish Market, along with a number of projects in Australia and the wider APAC region. We share our collective experiences across our global studios through knowledge sharing, exchange programs and working groups to learn from our diverse team of architects, façade specialists, interior designers, researchers, circularity experts, behavioural designers GXN) and digital techsperts.

We are currently looking for an experienced architect/project leader to join us full-time in our Sydney Studio with strong design focus and language capabilities in both English and Japanese. Our Sydney studio is continuing to grow with a variety of projects on the books, ranging from Sport, Culture, Commercial, Education and Residential across Australia and wider APAC region. We want team first, highly skilled architects and designers to join our Sydney studio.

Requirements

  • Confirmed visa/residency status for working in Australia.
  • Master’s degree in architecture.
  • Minimum 5years’ experience (post master’s degree completion) in creative, design-focused architecture studio(s).
  • Possess a strong passion for design integrity.
  • Strong conceptual design skills and focus.
  • Strong abilities with Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Grasshopper and Dynamo skills are not essential, but are a plus.
  • Experience in leading or being a 2IC on projects at different phases.
  • Strong technical knowledge / documenting skills and coordination experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Japanese language capabilities at written and spoken professional level.
  • You must be a team player, self-directed, and highly motivated.
  • Candidates must feel comfortable being agile in tasks in a creative and dynamic environment.
  • Have a strong work ethic, but a “team first” mentality.
