JOB TITLE - Customs and Trade Compliance Professional

LOCATION – Assens or Gentofte (Denmark)

HOURS – 37 hours

ABOUT THE ROLE.
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our Global Customs & Trade Compliance Team as a Customs and Trade Compliance Professional based in Denmark. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods across borders, supporting our business operations globally. As part of a dynamic team, you will work to optimize customs processes, ensuring compliance with ever-evolving trade regulations.

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  • Managing and improving customs processes, ensuring compliance with Denmark customs legislation.
  • Overseeing import and export declarations, including customs clearing, duty management, and reconciliation of tariffs, VAT and commodity codes management.
  • Acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Danish Customs authorities as well as collaborating with internal teams and external partners on compliance matters.
  • Working with factories and freight forwarders to ensure timely and compliant shipments. Identifying opportunities to improve customs processes with our 3PL partners in Denmark.
  • Staying up to date with local customs legislation and supporting the implementation of new regulations across our EU Planning & Fulfilment teams.
  • Supporting Denmark business in maintaining compliance with customs and trade requirements.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WILL BE REQUIRED?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Customs, Trade Compliance or Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of customs declarations, excise legislation, and transportation (CMR regulations, Incoterms).
  • Residence in Denmark and a background in customs services with a solid understanding of Danish customs legislation & any changes related to UCC.
  • Familiarity with customs and excise processes, including license management and EMCS (Excise Management & Control System).
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (such as SAP or AX), customs software (such as Descartes)
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and able to identify process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of import/export declarations, Inward Processing, Bonded warehouse, and SKAT compliance is highly desirable.
