Are you passionate about telling global stories? NIRAS International Consulting is looking for a Junior Communications Specialist with a flair for words and a knack for video editing. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues in the Manila office and with project managers, experts, and specialists worldwide. Your work mainly focusses on telling stories clearly and compellingly across both written and visual media, helping audiences connect with the impact of the organisation’s work. About us
The Communications Team of NIRAS’ international consulting arm works with colleagues across Asia, Africa, and Europe and plays a key role in sharing project impact to a wide audience, including clients, stakeholders, and the general public.

We are looking for applicants who can:
- Manage, research, and write internal and external news content on behalf of the international development consulting arm.
- Research and write engaging project briefs, turning key aspects and results of detailed reports into brief, comprehensible and clear content for a general audience.
- Edit videos using Adobe Premiere or similar software and support content creation for projects and social media (i.e., LinkedIn).
- Liaise with our project managers for internal and external communications, ensuring accuracy and completeness of project information.
- Proofread or edit deliverables and other knowledge products written in English.
As for minimum requirements, we need someone who has or is:
- Relevant education, training, or experience in development communications, journalism, marketing, or literature.
- 1-3 years of work experience; fresh graduates are welcome.
- Highly proficient in written and spoken English; familiarity with other languages is a bonus.
- Initiative. We are looking for an independent and self-motivated worker who can collaborate with a global team, meet deadlines, and deliver fast turnaround when needed.
- The ability and openness to work within a multi-cultural organisation spanning multiple time zones.
- A love for good (and accurate!) storytelling.
- Creativity and flexibility (both in working approach and working time).
- A sense of humour and general positive outlook.
Other qualities we are seeking but are not required are:
- Experience in transcribing or writing scripts for videos.
- Proficiency in managing internal social platforms (i.e., Viva Engage).
- Experience using Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, Umbraco).
- Basic knowledge of implementing a communications strategy or marketing campaign.
- Big bonus if you know how to work with other Adobe products such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
