During my experience at Aarhus University for my MSc thesis, I have improved my skills in bioinformatics, data analysis and laboratory practices. I am a quick learner and I have learned how to work in a team and to be more self-confident, to ask questions and to insist when things are not working, figuring out the reason why as well.

MSc thesis internship

Aarhus Universitet (AU)

Under the umbrella of "NATURE Project" the aim of my intern was to assess the capability of a Constructed Wetland in Tjørnelunde to remove pollutant and other compounds from the wastewater and to study the microbial community as well.
We took samples of soil and water from the area every season, in order to analyse (Analyst Software) which compounds were present before and after the plant. In collaboration with CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Italy) we studied the microorganisms as well, sequencing their DNA and looking for Antibiotic Resistance Genes (ARGs).
