Financial Model Developer

Ørsted

Join us in this role where you’ll be central to modelling high-quality forward curves for the energy market. You’ll play a key role in developing price curves, which are used extensively across the business. Your work will be instrumental in delivering accurate price data to our teams, essential for strategic decisions that drive the transition to sustainable energy.

Welcome to Risk Models & Analytics
You’ll be part of Market Data where you, together with your colleagues, will collaborate with traders and colleagues in Risk Management to continuously improve the team’s forward curve modelling engine. Here, you'll transform your financial insights into code. We’re in the exciting process of modernising our price modelling application. We're doing it with Go, a powerful and efficient programming language, and you’ll have a fantastic opportunity to be part of this transformation and gain valuable insights from it. As a team, we have a friendly atmosphere where all types of questions are welcome. We’re six people located in both Gentofte and Warsaw and we support each other in our daily work.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • shaping our next-generation price modelling application – we’ll quickly get you up to speed so you can make meaningful contributions to the project
  • ensuring that our modelled forward curves reflect current market conditions and meet the needs of our stakeholders
  • engaging with stakeholders to understand their challenges and requirements, allowing you to deliver the right solution to the business
  • assisting with various data-oriented tasks, such as adding new prices, to ensure that our Price Data Warehouse remains fit for purpose.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a master’s degree or higher in a financial discipline, with a strong drive to understand the dynamics of energy markets
  • enjoy programming – while we don't expect you to have prior experience with Go, we’re looking for someone who has an interest in programming languages and a desire to learn
  • recently graduated or have a few years of experience
  • exhibit a structured and analytical approach to your work
  • enjoy working in a team and contributing to an informal, positive atmosphere.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
