Head of Planning

Job Objective

As a Head of Planning, you will be fully accountable for all factory planning related activities in Manor Farm as well as long term planning and forecasting. This will involve working closely with key stakeholders including the agriculture, live bird planning, operations, logistics, procurement, engineering, sales, npd and technical teams. You will liaise with colleagues in a collaborative manner to ensure the right product is coming into the business at the right time to the product specification to meet the overall customer demand ensuring a high service level is adhered to at all times.You will be an integral part of the Supply chain team capable of supporting & directing team members to ensure the successful functionality of the planning & S&OP departments to ensure Manor Farm delivers on the day to day business needs, the S&Op strategy and continuous improvement plans.

Duties & Responsibilites

Performance

• Support agri & live bird planning teams to ensure robust planning & effective communications in place to fulfil short, medium & long term company plans
• Challenge, support & direct team members in the generation & maintenance of daily kill and production plans & schedules for each business unit to maximise output aligned with factory capacity & constraints
• Monitor adherance to plan & order fulfilment with live, real time information
• Communicate risks & opportunities to key stakeholders which may impact upon the plan and support in finding solutions in an agile manner
• Optimise the anatomical balance of the product in the short & medium term & identify opportunities for the business
• Challenge & work with the team to improve processes and ways of working. Create & write SOPs for existing & new processes.
• Issuing weekly capacity reports and advising the management of extra shifts and overtime required to meet customer demand and optimise raw materials and equipment.
• Attend daily production meetings and other meetings as required.
• Support the introduction of new products and manage product delists in a collaborative manner.
• Assist the business in various value enhancing programmes and long term strategic plans
• Challenge the status quo and take the initiative to examine the potential for value to be delivered through data analysis and insights gathered from internal and external stakeholders.
• Support live bird & production planning to ensure compliance with company & customer policies
• Schedule production to minimise waste, achieve optimum shelflife and ensure quality standards are not compromised
• Comply with relevant HR policies and procedures
• Comply with company reporting needs
• Work collaboratively and support colleagues to achieve overall company goals & objectives.
• Motivate & coach team members & colleagues to drive continuous improvement, meet KPIs and maintain high standards.
• Engage proactively with Scandi Standard peers to share and get best practice on planning related matters.
