Job Description
Agilent Technologies Denmark is looking for an R&D Scientist to help us in our efforts to fight cancer.

We are hiring an R&D Scientists for a temporary period of 24 Months to join our antibody development team within our Future Assay Technologies department - a part of Pathology R&D in our Diagnostics and Genomics Group.

We need to strengthen our capacity and competences to continuously ensure a high throughput of new antibodies to meet high marked demands and to identify and implement technology improvements to our antibody design and development processes.

You will join a highly experienced antibody design and development team that sits in the heart of a very versatile department that spans additional specialized competences within, molecular pathology, chemistry, and development of advanced image analysis. We are currently 7 academics and 8 laboratory technicians with the collective goal of securing that our reagents, future instruments, and advanced image analysis will deliver best in class results for health care providers to benefit patients worldwide.

About the job:
Your primary focus area will be to strengthen our capacity within the design and development of novel recombinant antibodies that have the required assay sensitivity, specificity, and overall solution robustness to deliver trusted results in clinic. You will be working closely with two scientists with similar responsibilities. Together with the team, you are expected to secure efficient processes from strategic planning, laboratory work, and documentation processes, troubleshooting, and technology scouting.

To secure the above your main tasks will include:

  • Design antigens and develop novel recombinant antibodies used for in vitro diagnosis
  • Develop and implement efficient methods/processes to secure high-quality antibodies and assays
  • Evaluate performance characteristics of IHC stains
  • Plan and document reagent development activities prioritized in the team
  • Write relevant development documentation, e.g. feasibility reports etc.
  • Plan test activities in close collaboration with the team
  • Secure input for IP submissions
  • Collaborate in project team as subject matter expert
  • Collaborate with external key experts, pathologists, and quality organizations

Qualifications
Required qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in biochemistry, human biology, biology or equivalent
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Team oriented as well as independent working
  • Experience with expression of recombinant antibodies
  • Experience with immunological methods
  • Experience with antibody development
  • Experience with antibody sequencing or cloning

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with immunohistochemistry
  • Experience with antigen design
  • Experience with phage display
  • Experience with biosensor quantification and/or kinetic measure of antibodies (e.g. BLI technology, Octet)
  • Experience with automation
  • Experience in an academic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology setting is desirable
