The Department of Chemistry is seeking a maternity cover for our center manager at the Center for Chemistry of Clouds (C3). You can read more about the center here: www.chem.au.dk/C3.

The center manager plays a key role in the operation and development of the center in close dialogue and collaboration with Head of Center Professor Merete Bilde.

The position is a temporary maternity cover to be filled from August 1, 2024, with expiration on July 31, 2025.
Responsibilities

  • Support of the head of center in all aspects of center management, including obligations to the Danish National Research Foundation and Aarhus University
  • Contribute to the coordination of the professional work of the center’s employees and students.
  • Responsible for the administrative operation of C3 and the associated research activities. This includes: 1) collaboration with the department secretariat and the faculty’s administrative center on HR and finance, 2) planning and implementation of meetings at C3, 3) coordination of workshops and conferences, and 4) responsibility for administrative assistance in connection with evaluations, reporting, and maintenance and expansion of collaboration relationships.
  • Coordination and participation in dissemination activities for C3.
  • Maintaining the website for C3.
  • Support C3’s participation in national and international infrastructure consortia around the AURA chamber.
  • If possible, contribute to the professional work of C3 through laboratory work at the AURA chamber and, in this context, technical support for scientific employees, guests, and students.
  • Contribute to data management structures in collaboration with students and technical staff associated with C3.
  • Undertake representation tasks to some extent.
  • Support and contribute to fundraising and writing of future research applications.

Qualifications

  • Relevant academic education at MSc level or higher – a degree in chemistry or another field of natural science is an advantage.
  • Advantage to have qualifications and desire to perform and support laboratory work.
  • Interest in or experience with research support and project support
  • Accommodating and able to collaborate and navigate in both Danish and international research contexts and with both researchers, technical/administrative staff, and students.
  • Organizational skills and an independent, structured, and proactive approach
  • Experience with and abilities for research dissemination.
  • Good language skills in writing and speaking (Danish and English).
