We are offering a challenging role working together with a highly experienced Demurrage and claims team. This position will report to the Head of Demurrage & Voyage Claims. As Assistant Voyage Claims Analyst you will have ample scope for dealing with cross-functional teams globally. You will be an integral part of a commercial team, and you will have close co-ordination with the Operations and Chartering departments.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing and preparing miscellaneous voyage and port related claims, except for freight and demurrage in accordance with agreed terms and charter parties
• Communicating with vessels, Operations, and the commercial agency to source all relevant supporting docs in accordance with the charter party
• Reviewing contracts, voyages and WS terms to ensure all claims are filed to charterers within the time bar
• Establishing connections and contacts with charterers to ease regular follow-up, negotiations, and recovery of outstanding claims
• Analyzing and understanding various tanker charter parties to provide clause feedback to the commercial teams, as well as analyzing data to capture feedback for future improvement and opportunities with the commercial team
• Accountable for keeping and maintaining data accuracy for claims in related systems hereunder VIP and reMARK
• Preparation of various ad-hoc and weekly reports

To succeed in the job
The successful candidate may work with an owner or charterer, exposed to the product tanker market and with insights into terms and demurrage calculations. We expect that you have a relevant educational degree as a Diploma in Ship Management, along with a bachelor’s degree.

Furthermore, we expect that you have/are:

• Excellent aptitude skills with a keen interest in and attention to details
• An outgoing person with strong interpersonal skills who likes to meet different people.
• A strong team player with a high level of self-motivation
• Knowledge of tanker laytime calculations and understanding of shipping operations will be considered an advantage
• Excellent written and spoken English, other language skills will be an advantage
