FORCE Technology offers guidance on all sorts of technological areas. In your new job, you will work for the business area Maritime Industry, that is specifically focused on ship behaviour and simulations. We have customers and simulator installations all over the world and are using the simulators in our own training facilities in Kgs. Lyngby and Singapore.

We are a development team of 8 developers and specialists of various backgrounds, some engineers, and quite a few PhD’s. All of us keen to produce simulators where the users of the simulators should have as realistic ship handling experience as possible, whether it is in 360 degrees theatre’s, using VR/MR headsets or using the simulator for engineering studies. Engineering studies could e.g. be design of new ports, offshore wind farms or new ships.

About the role and key responsibilities
As our new software developer, you will be responsible for our visual unity engine but will also take part in the development other components in the simulator such as the Operator Control Centre and various maritime instruments used in the simulator.

You will be working from our location in Kgs. Lyngby, we offer the possibility to work from home a few days a week.

We think we have the most realistic maritime simulator in the world, and we are right now a journey to spread out our simulator using VR/MR headsets to existing and new customers globally.

Working with our simulators means working with both cutting-edge technology, as well as well proven technologies. As such, the challenges vary wildly in scope and direction. This means that you should constantly find innovative solutions to problems that arise, giving you valuable insight and experience.

Your profile
We are a team of experts, and you must be able to work independently and structure your own workday.

You should be able gather information from our support-, engineering- and course departments and transfer that into the simulator components. Thus, it would be advantageous for you to have good communication skills, as you will occasionally be explaining complex concepts to non-developers.

As to the more formal expectations we expect:

• You have a few years of working experience with programming languages such as C# (.Net), C++, Python and the experience with the Unity platform

• You are able to take the ownership of the Unity development

• Your mathematical skills are excellent

• You have a BSc. /MSc. in a relevant topic - e.g., computer science

• We would love to see an educational background within, or concrete working experience with, Unity Shader programming and C#

• You have a keen interest in computer simulation.
