We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Documentation Manager to join our Fleet Management & Technology team at Maersk. As a Technical Documentation Manager, you will be responsible for managing the archiving of vessel technical documentation, assisting project managers, and contributing to the continuous improvement of project management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take initiative for proper and timely action in all respects.
- Ensure that safety is a priority in all daily operations.
- Facilitate the digitalization of vessel documentation, ensuring all technical records are current, organized, and accessible both onshore and onboard.
- Receive, review, and catalog technical documentation for newly operational vessels, making these records readily available for vessel operators.
- Continuously improve processes and procedures ensuring best possible focus on technical document management and quality of technical documentation.
- Make suggestions for improvements and savings in all matters within the area of responsibility.
- Ensure that proper business/economic evaluations are made prior to taking decisions so that established budgets are not exceeded.
- Continuously update this job description in conjunction with Management.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, vessel crews, and other stakeholders to ensure that all documentation and data management needs are met.
- Ensure that all technical documentation management and PMO activities are carried out in conjunction with relevant departments and organizations within Fleet Management & Technology.
- Provide clear and effective communication both internally and externally, in line with governing directives.
- Keep management closely advised of developments within the area of responsibility, particularly regarding documentation and project management issues.
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in data management, Information Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- Experience in documentation management, data management, or a related field, preferably within the maritime or engineering sectors
- Experience in assisting project management activities within a PMO or similar environment
- Strong knowledge of archiving and records management practices, both physical and digital
- Proficiency in data management and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI)
- Familiarity with engineering documentation standards and practices, particularly in shipbuilding or maritime engineering
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
