Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2024 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.

About the job
Responsible for conducting Monitoring & Evaluation activities as per work plan

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Monitoring
• Carry out quantitative and qualitative data collection activities at field level
• Support the design and piloting of monitoring tools to be used during activities and assistance
• During monitoring activities ensure beneficiaries are treated with respect, confidentiality and informed consent
• Carry out data collection work
• Refer on potential vulnerable cases to Monitoring & Evaluation Officer or sensitive issues that might be observed at field level
• Keep supervisor informed of any safety incident that might take place
• Solve problems and conflicts that might occur during monitoring and respond to minor complaints coming from beneficiaries

Reporting and information
• Submit weekly and monthly reports to the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer on achievements and challenges related to monitoring
• Protection cases identified and referred in coordination with the protection team
• Produce periodic monitoring reports to ensure programs have accurate and useful data to inform project development
• Participate in the internal evaluation of the program

Accountability
• Ensure that the activities are compliant with DRC accountability principles
• Support the implementation of DRC’s complaints mechanism

About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have minimum 1 year of direct experience of monitoring and evaluation and ability to analyze data and summarize it for a range of different audiences.

Required:
• Training in quantitative methodologies, including database management.
• Strong analytical skills and an understanding of a range of methods for monitoring, evaluation and assessment to promote evidence-based learning.
• Demonstrated ability and understanding to design, commission, and manage assessment methodologies and techniques such as focus group discussions, key informant interviews, observations to name a few.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to build support from staff across teams and across members, and to build the capacity of others.
• Proven ability to coordinate effective resource allocation to ensure quality programmes.
• Experience of working within budget constraints.
• Experience of qualitative research techniques
• Experience in international development
• English proficiency B1
• Fluency in local language

Education: University degree or/and Master’s degree in social sciences, development, program evaluation, data science, economic policy, econometrics and operations research, or a related field

We offer:
Contract length: 3 months probationary period, after successful completion of the probationary period, renewal on open-ended contract

Start date: 15th October, 2024

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals.
