Jobbeskrivelse
As wireless communication continues to evolve, the field is expanding the frequency spectrum to sub-THz, utilizing extremely large antenna arrays, implementing reconfigurable intelligent surfaces(RISs) to dynamically shape radio channel environments, and integrating sensing and communication(ISAC) technologies. These advancements are anticipated to play a significant role in the future of wireless systems. Understanding the radio channel, a fundamental element of wireless systems, is essential for developing new technologies, especially in emerging deployment scenarios.

The research assistant will contribute to advancing radio channel measurement and modeling through one or more of the following research areas:

    • Developing an automated platform for channel sounding.
    • Conducting channel sounding measurements for future use cases, such as industrial scenarios, ISAC applications, RIS, and waveform design for signal transmission.
    • Channel estimation and modeling.
The wireless propagation and over the air testing research group is recognized internationally as a strong research group in radio propagation and antenna measurements. The group also pioneered over-the-air antenna testing for single-antenna handsets, which later became an international standard, and has also strongly influenced later testing of multi-antenna devices in 4G and 5G radios. The group is well known for its strong relationship with industry and experimentally based research, which is enabled by world top-notch laboratory facilities.
