The position
As Associate Manager of the MPP Recovery team, you will lead a team responsible for daily operations in our recovery facility working closely together with our cultivation and purification team. You will primary be responsible for the recovery of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) for phase 1, 2 and 3 studies.

Your team consists of 14 employees (scientists and technicians) who are preparing, conducting, and reporting API production campaigns in close collaboration with the development and production areas of Novo Nordisk. Furthermore, you will join a growing area preparing for taking in more exciting development projects and expanding capacity for the supply of our portfolio.

Your main tasks will be to:

  • Place the well-being of your team at the centre of your attention, be supportive, and use your skills to build a trustful working environment
  • Empower, motivate, and develop your team as well as help them balance priorities and deadlines
  • Keep yourself updated with the team’s tasks and projects, know when to get involved, and take action when needed
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively across disciplines.

As Associate Manager you will be part of the leadership team in CMC MPP, which is composed of 1 Director, 4 Associate Managers and an administrative coordinator that meets frequently, support each other, and routinely use each other as sparring partners.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need a technical background, master’s degree or PhD in science/technology, biochemical/chemical engineering, pharmacy, or other relevant fields. Furthermore, you will need:

  • Experience in the pharma industry and knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is preferred.
  • Leadership experience and a natural desire to engage, develop and empower people.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both internal and external collaboration partners.
  • The ability to challenge the status quo and see cLEAN as a natural part of your daily work
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

As a person you possess strong interpersonal skills, which enables you to build trust within your team. You like to develop, involve, and motivate your team members and can communicate and collaborate effectively across disciplines. You thrive in a dynamic development environment where sharp priorities are part of everyday life, as well as support to employees in their priorities at the pilot facilities and projects.

Additionally, you are driven by the work processes and seeing shopfloor, with your employees, as one of the most important tasks and feel motivated by identifying opportunities to optimize our workflow and processes through a structural approach.

About the department
As part of Novo Nordisk PSQIT organisation, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development & Scaling makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture and distribute drug candidates for clinical trials and have a strong culture with a “can do” mind-set.

The CMC Mammalian Pilot Plants department is organised within CMC API Pilots and support Novo Nordisk’s important strategic projects within our mammalian platform.
