Tax Specialist to Group Tax

We are looking for a Tax Specialist to our Business Tax Team in Group Tax in Danske Bank. Group Tax is a growing team of currently 23 specialists working with corporate tax, transfer pricing, VAT, operational business taxes, HR taxes etc. and is represented in the four Nordic countries, the UK and Lithuania.
Who we are
The Business Tax Team currently consists of four people located in Denmark supported by colleagues in Sweden, Norway and Finland; servicing Danske Bank Group including our Nordic branches, Realkredit Danmark, Danica Pension and Nordania Leasing on operational taxes, products, tax reporting to authorities & HR taxes as in-house advisors.
You will be located physically in Copenhagen together with the rest of the 12 specialists in the Group Tax team in Copenhagen, where we recently moved into our brand new head office premises at Postgrunden nearby the Copenhagen Central Station. We typically work three days from office every week and two days from home.
The tone in Group Tax is informal and reflects the commitment as a team to assist, support and guide the business in tax matters. We hold good relations, humour and respect for each other’s personalities and competences high.
The Business Tax Team reports to the Head of Business Tax.
What you will do
The Business Tax Team has stakeholders throughout the bank – meaning that there are a wide range of different exiting tax-legal tasks and challenges that can land on your desk. Amongst those can be mentioned:
- Tax analysis of investments & products including cross-border scenarios related to e.g. Corporate Actions tax treatment, withholding tax rules, adherence with guideline for tax responsible investments etc.
- Assist in the Product Tax Approval process whenever new or amended products or services are introduced in Danske Bank Group to ensure tax compliance
- Support the business as Tax SME related to HR Taxes such as employee relocations, business travellers, benefits taxation, payroll reporting & social security
- Develop and conduct effectiveness analysis in the organisation to ensure overall adherence to Danske Bank Tax Policy including underlying Tax Instructions.
- Monitor and coordinate national as well as international tax initiatives in applicable jurisdictions including from EU, OECD (e.g. FASTER) and produce impact analysis of new legislation
- Pro-actively provide SME assistance to stakeholders in the Group where regulatory changes will have a tax impact in a business area or where current operational processes can be improved from a tax perspective incl. facilitation of tax training sessions
- Identify risks as well as opportunities and assist Danske Bank business units and functions on tax risk analysis & assessment.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a curious team player with a tax legal educational background (e.g. Cand.jur or Cand.merc.jur) and preferably experience from the financial sector. You like to work in a fast paced and international environment and across countries, to explore business processes with curiosity and most importantly; to take ownership and to drive and solve your tasks. You have a solid sense of quality and have good communication skills (in Danish and English) and a willingness to learn and grow.
