Would you like to be part of revolutionising industrial processing on a global scale? And are you ready to dive into strategic, fast-growing business areas, supporting customers with expertise on products ranging from instant coffee to freeze-dried strawberries? Join GEA, a global market leader experiencing rapid growth, and seize the opportunity to make a lasting impact on a business with a stable growth trajectory and significant potential for further expansion in the years ahead. At GEA, we provide cutting-edge equipment and project solutions to the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and dairy industries. With 18,000+ employees across 62 countries, we specialise in sustainable, efficient solutions that optimise production and reduce environmental impact. At our office in Søborg, Copenhagen, you will join our business unit Coffee & Freeze Drying and, more specifically, the Customer Lifecycle Support (CLS) team – a dynamic team of 3 Area Sales Managers and a Technical Spare Parts Engineer. We work closely with both Process Specialists, New Plant Sales Team, and the Project Department, all in all a collective department of more than 50 people.
Your responsibilities and tasks:
You will be responsible for driving all CLS sales activities in a defined region in collaboration with local GEA offices and partners. This implies preparing detailed quotations for customers and local offices spanning the entire portfolio of GEA Coffee & Freeze Drying technologies.
Finding the right drying solution for a customer involves process and plant specification, product test work, cost and sales price setting, preparation of quotations, as well as final contract negotiations with customers.
You will be the link between our customers, our technical department, and project department, when you:
- Provide technical day-to-day support and investigate the customers' need for replacement, upgrade, modernisation, revamping, or maybe an audit
- Work closely with customers and drive GEA’s relationship and customer focus
- Are involved in several activities to strengthen our long-term business growth and market position, including, e.g., exploring new business opportunities and implementation of strategic initiatives
This position will take you travelling 20-60 days a year on sales related visits to customers.
Your profile and qualifications:
With your outgoing and proactive profile, you are not one to sit back and wait for tasks to come your way. Furthermore, you understand and respect cultural differences and can navigate how to differentiate the communication with a European and an Asian respectively. And if you like the “hunt” for closing orders - and collaborating globally with customers and internal GEA stakeholders – you might be just the one we are looking for.
Below is a wish list of competencies that would be amazing for you to have – but if there is one or two that you cannot completely check of, we would still like to hear from you. Optimally, you have:
- A deep technical knowledge of process equipment as well as a profound commercial mindset – perhaps combined a degree in engineering
- Knowledge about industrial production processes and equipment utilised in the chemical industry and can translate this into attractive plant design and quotations
- Sales experience and knowledge of the food and beverage industry and its production processes and can show a successful track record within technical project sales
- Cross-cultural understanding and language skills to plan and carry out complex sales processes internationally and handle negotiations
- English proficiency – Danish and/or other languages are not a requirement, though an advantage
