Jobbeskrivelse
The PhD position is within the Mass Customization (MC) group. The focus of the PhD project is the implementation of circular economy within manufacturing systems, considering the interrelations to products, business models, and supply chains. The aim of the PhD project is to analyze challenges in industry in relation to the development and implementation of circular manufacturing systems and value chains, and identify and develop methods, models and tools that can be applied to accelerate the transition towards circular manufacturing in industry. Thus, the PhD project includes the development of methods to support the identification of suitable EoL strategies and the related requirements and implications for the manufacturing setup, design methods and models to support the implementation of R-strategies in manufacturing, and consideration of the business value and potential in transitioning towards a more circular manufacturing setup. The PhD project is expected to include in-depth case studies with various types of data collection in a range of manufacturing companies. Thus, the PhD student needs to work with various types of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
The candidate is required to have an Engineering degree on master’s level within Management Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or similar and significant experience with industry collaboration on projects.
