We offer an exciting position in a busy department at our office in Manchester. We are looking for a candidate with experience in either export or import customs procedures – preferably both – who, with the right motivation and interest, is eager to develop a comprehensive understanding of the entire customs field over time. Of course, you will receive thorough training and support to succeed in your new role.

The position
The position is a full-time and will involve dealing with our customers and partners handling traffic worldwide by road, sea and air.

The job includes:

• Customs clearance of goods in the GB Customs online system.
• Preparation of export declarations.
• Management of procedures related to customs warehousing and other temporary storage procedures
• Preparation of various customs documents
• Proactively addressing and resolving challenges arising throughout the working day
• Occasional on-call weekend work

What we expect from you
Important that you have good communication skills in English. Furthermore, we expect that you:

• have some experience with customs clearance – preferably with Road experience
• experience with transport business is an advantage
• knowledge of customs procedures, customs systems, and tariff classification of goods
• strong IT knowledge.
• can work independently and take responsibility for your own tasks
• always work with the client in focus
• are motivated by a hectic workday and sometimes large workloads and deadlines
