R&D Engineer for Emission Control Systems
Everllence
Join us in shaping the future of sustainable propulsion
Do you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges? Are you driven to build innovative solutions that support the green transition? If you’re passionate about automation, control systems, and working with purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
At Everllence, we are pioneers in advanced propulsion technologies. We develop the control systems behind the world’s largest two-stroke engines – systems that now support operation with low NOx emissions. Join us in our mission to move big things to zero.
About the Role
As an R&D Engineer in our Emission Control Systems team, your contribution will be central to developing the control strategies that enable low NOx emissions operation of the world’s largest two-stroke engines. You’ll take part in designing and refining control concepts that optimize how engine systems interact across mechanical, electrical, and chemical domains.
You’ll be entrusted with translating these strategies into working software, implemented through our C++-based control platform, and tested across a range of environments – from simulation tools and hardware-in-the-loop systems in Copenhagen to full-scale engines on-site around the world. Alongside your team, you’ll take responsibility for continuously improving the control system, supporting global customers in troubleshooting real-world issues, and ensuring that interfaces with internal and external partners are robust and future-ready.
This is a role for someone who finds satisfaction in shaping highly complex systems, enjoys close collaboration across disciplines, and wants to leave a tangible mark on one of the key technologies in the global energy transition.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us – professionally and personally – as we drive innovation in green propulsion technology. You might already be experienced in control systems, or you might be earlier in your career and ready to take on significant challenges. Either way, what matters most is that you’re motivated by solving real-world problems and enjoy seeing your ideas turned into working solutions.
Success in this role means developing a deep understanding of how engine systems behave and interact, contributing to the design of control solutions that are safe, reliable, and forward-looking. Over time, we’ll count on you to lead development tasks from initial concept through testing and delivery, to work independently when needed while contributing actively to your team’s shared objectives.
You’ll thrive here if you’re curious, open to learning, and enjoy working closely with colleagues across disciplines, cultures, and locations. If you're someone who takes initiative, appreciates structure but isn’t afraid to challenge it, and sees feedback as a tool for growth, we think you’ll fit right in.
Our Team Culture
We work in agile-inspired teams with strong collaboration and shared accountability. Our software and systems are designed with a focus on reliability, safety, and usability.
We value informal, open dialogue, and support personal development. You’ll be working with skilled and motivated colleagues who are happy to share knowledge and learn from you. Our team includes people of many nationalities, and we foster a workplace where everyone feels welcome and included.
