The Department of Computer Science at the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Aalborg University, is looking to appoint a Full Professor starting April 1, 2027 or soon thereafter.
We now welcome strong applicants in all areas of computer science for a new position in Aalborg or Copenhagen.

The Department of Computer Science has the following research groups:

We are seeking visionary and internationally recognised scholars who can provide strong academic leadership and drive research excellence within the department. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future direction of research and education, strengthening international collaborations, attracting external funding, and contributing to the continued development of a vibrant and inclusive academic environment.

Your qualifications
We are looking for applicants that are able to document a high degree of original academic production at an international level in computer science including supervision of PhD students. Competences and experience from teaching at different levels includes tests/exams, course/study programme management as well as contributions to the development of teaching activities and teaching material. You are a clear communicator and has documented skills as group leader. As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are inclusive and team-oriented and able to contribute to a good work environment.
Emphasis is placed on the extent, to which you have developed the academic discipline from a research and teaching perspective.
Emphasis may moreover be placed on the your ability to carry out and develop research-based activities in relation to the university’s external cooperation.
The assessment will further be based on these academic criteria.

The Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University is highly regarded in Denmark among researchers, students, and external partners due to its leading research, education, and collaboration activities. The department currently employs more than 165 academic staff and approximately 20 administrative staff and has around 1,100 students.

In addition, we conduct fundamental research with the potential long-term impact. Salary and terms of employment
The employment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministerial Order on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities (in Danish) and protocol on certain terms of employment of academic staff at universities (in Danish).
Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the collective agreement between the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations and the state (AC collective agreement) (only in Danish) and protocol on certain terms of employment of academic staff at universities (only in Danish).
There is a mutual probationary period of 3 months for the position.
