Toxicology Development Projects
Måløv, Denmark

Are you passionate about advancing innovative therapeutics into the clinic? Do you thrive in a scientifically complex and collaborative environment where your expertise contributes directly to drug development? Join our non-clinical safety organization and help shape the future of safe and effective medicines.

Your new role
As a Senior Scientist, you will support our research and development portfolio by delivering non-clinical safety data required to enable clinical testing of new drug candidates. You will work in close collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams, contract research organizations (CROs), and global stakeholders to ensure high-quality and scientifically robust outcomes.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, overseeing, monitoring, and interpreting outsourced non-GLP and GLP toxicology and/or safety pharmacology studies
  • Collaborating closely with CRO study directors, principal investigators, and non-clinical project teams
  • Evaluating, communicating, and risk assessing non-clinical safety data to support project decisions and regulatory interactions
  • Authoring and contributing to regulatory documentation
  • Ensuring scientifically sound, fit-for-purpose, and efficient non-clinical development programs aligned with regulatory expectations and project needs

In addition, you will contribute to implementing new ways of working, including digitalization initiatives and optimization of operational processes.

Your new department
You will join a highly collaborative and science-driven non-clinical safety organization. The department consists of two toxicology teams of approximately 15 scientists each, working closely together to support the full Novo Nordisk pipeline across a broad range of therapeutic areas and modalities, including peptides, proteins, small molecules, monoclonal antibodies, and emerging technologies.

The department is responsible for non-clinical safety assessment activities, supporting projects from early research through First-in-Human clinical trials and all the way to marketing submission. You will collaborate closely with other disciplines, including DMPK, pathology, translational sciences, bioanalysis, and project management.

All studies are conducted externally by CROs in close scientific collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners. We place strong emphasis on scientific quality, operational efficiency, innovation, animal welfare, and implementation of novel approaches and digital solutions to optimize our ways of working.

The working environment is characterized by openness, collaboration, and scientific ambition, offering strong opportunities for professional growth and influence. The position is based in Måløv, and on-site presence is expected.

Your skills and qualifications
We are looking for a collaborative and curious scientist who thrives in a dynamic project environment and enjoys balancing scientific quality with speed and innovation.

You hold a veterinary or life sciences degree, providing a strong understanding of physiology, pharmacology, and toxicology. A PhD in a relevant discipline will be considered an advantage.

In addition, you bring:

  • Experience in non-clinical toxicology and/or safety pharmacology
  • Expertise in toxicology study design, conduct, and interpretation
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical drug discovery and development
  • Ability to interpret and clearly present complex scientific data
  • Interest in digitalization and the application of AI

As a person, you are curious, self-driven, and quality oriented. You are proactive and engaged, with a positive attitude towards new ideas and collaboration. You work in a structured manner, take ownership of your tasks, and enjoy working in teams, sharing knowledge, and building strong networks. You also possess strong communication skills.
