As a Fresher Data Engineer, you'll get hands‑on exposure to building automation workflows and scripts, with some exposure to data pipelines, working alongside experienced engineers to deliver reliable solutions for fleet and shore‑based operations.
Your Role
In this role, you'll be part of a high‑performing Data & AI team, learning to build and support automation workflows and scripts end to end. You'll work closely with senior engineers, get mentorship on best practices, and steadily take ownership of tasks that automate repetitive, manual processes across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automation scripts and workflows using Python to eliminate repetitive, manual business processes
- Schedule, monitor, and maintain automation jobs, ensuring they run reliably and flagging failures early
- Apply data structures and algorithms (DSA) concepts to write efficient, scalable automation code
- Write and optimize SQL queries to support automation workflows that read from or write to databases
- Debug and troubleshoot issues in automation jobs, escalating and documenting fixes
- Assist with basic data pipeline tasks - extracting, validating, and loading data - in support of automation and reporting needs
- Collaborate with the team to test, validate, and deploy automation solutions across Dev/Test/Prod environments
- Maintain clear documentation for scripts, workflows, and processes built
We're looking for a motivated fresher who is curious about automation and scripting, enjoys problem‑solving, and is eager to learn in a collaborative, technology‑driven environment.
To do well in this role, you bring:
- 0–1 year of experience
- Strong foundation in Python programming
- Good working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Solid understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) and problem‑solving ability
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong analytical and logical thinking, with a willingness to learn new tools and technologies
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Good to Have
- Exposure to Databricks or other cloud data platforms
- Awareness of Generative AI concepts, such as LLMs and prompt engineering
- Familiarity with Azure or other cloud environments
- Any personal or academic projects involving automation, scripting, or data pipelines
