The role & your impact:
We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to strengthen our defenses by establishing our DevSecOps function and improving security processes.
You will play a vital role in safeguarding our infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments while continuously improving our threat detection and response capabilities. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love solving complex security challenges, and have expertise in security operations, log management, and automation, we would love to hear from you!
We are a growing team of security professionals that work across the enterprise as advisors, engineers, analysts, and architects. The team has a strong foothold in the organization and there is therefore a high demand for our competences in building Novonesis.
You can expect an environment where your ideas and solutions will be heard and implemented, you will have access to modern tools, training, and certifications to stay ahead of the game and where teamwork and curiosity drive every project we tackle.
In this role, you will be mainly responsible for security operations in our development environments. You will help establish and operate a global DevSecOps function anchored in Cyber Security, creating clear ownership for secure development practices and translating cyber security requirements into practical standards, automation, and reusable guardrails for development teams.
In this role, you will work across Cyber Security, Digital Solutions, platform engineering, software development, cloud, and infrastructure teams to embed secure-by-default practices into the software delivery lifecycle. Your focus will be to make security easier to adopt through automation, policy-as-code, clear technical standards, and pragmatic risk guidance.
Your main responsibilities:
- Build and maintain DevSecOps standards, patterns, and technical documentation.
- Implement automated security controls such as dependency scanning, secret detection, application security testing, container and image scanning, and policy-as-code checks.
- Partner with software engineers and platform teams to integrate security into existing workflows.
- Track and communicate findings from development tooling and external attack surface management.
- Translate complex security risks into practical recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- The role combines hands-on engineering with cyber security ownership. You will use lessons learned from incidents, vulnerabilities, and exposure findings to strengthen preventive controls, improve developer guardrails, and reduce the likelihood of security issues reaching production.
What you will need to be successful:
- Relevant education in software engineering, computer science, cyber security, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience as a software engineer or in a similar engineering role, with solid understanding of development environments, CI/CD pipelines, repositories, cloud services, automation, and developer workflows.
- Background in IT Security, DevSecOps, application security, cloud security, vulnerability management, or another security-adjacent role is required.
- Experience communicating risk evaluations, remediation priorities, and security trade-offs to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional English proficiency is a must.
Additional skills & interests we value:
- Strong engineering mindset combined with a natural curiosity and practical risk judgment.
- Ability to collaborate across software development, platform engineering, cloud, infrastructure, and Cyber Security.
- Ability to turn complex security requirements into simple, automated controls that developers will adopt.
