Protein chemist for production of antibodies for cancer diagnostics
Agilent Technologies
Job Description
Do you find antibody production exciting? And would you be thrilled to make a difference in fighting cancer and other life-threatening diseases? Then you are the new colleague we are looking for.
Agilent is a global leader within cancer diagnostics, and our products help doctors make vital decisions concerning the most optimal treatment for the individual patient.
About the department
In the department, we are responsible for the production of conjugated antibodies which are essential in Agilent’s immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry cancer diagnostic kits. The methods we use in the laboratory include chromatographic purifications, conjugation to enzymes and fluorochromes, and testing by immuno-electrophoresis, ELISA, and spectrophotometry. The production varies in terms of processes and scale, and we use both automated (i.e., ÄKTAs) and manual systems. All done according to GMP requirements and production procedures.
You will become part of a department with about 15 employees consisting of laboratory technicians responsible for the production and a team of academics who support the production. Despite being busy there is plenty of room for laughs and a relaxed tone among colleagues.
About the job
You will play a key role in daily support of the production of conjugates. This can include:
- Support lab techs in case of technical issues with purification, conjugation, and test of antibodies.
- Handle compliance issues according to GMP standards.
- Participate in projects, including product development projects and compliance projects.
- Drive changes to processes, e.g., implementation of new equipment.
- Participate in LEAN optimization projects, capacity upscale projects and similar activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in Quality Assurance (QA), Regulatory Affairs (RA), Research & Development (R&D) and across the Order Fulfillment & Supply chain (OFS).
Therefore, you will have daily collaboration with the technicians of the department, but also work closely together with experts from a wide range of areas throughout the company. Furthermore, you may represent the department in multidisciplinary project groups.
Qualifications
- You hold a master’s degree in biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field of study.
- Experience with implementation of equipment in a GMP environment.
- Hands on experience within protein purification, conjugations, and the above-mentioned analysis methods is an advantage.
- Experience with LEAN will be an advantage but not a requirement.
- Fluent in Danish and English; both spoken and written. Danish is a strict requirement, as all production procedures are in Danish.
- You enjoy working in a dynamic and flexible environment, where teamwork is at the top of the agenda.
- As a person, you are known for a high commitment to finding constructive solutions without compromising quality.
We offer:
- A job among highly qualified and committed colleagues in an international growing organization developing and producing diagnostic products.
- Diverse and exciting tasks.
- A high degree of freedom.
- Development opportunities in an international company.
- A friendly and humorous atmosphere.
