Equipment Responsible Engineers for daily operations within Upstream, Downstream or Project teams

FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies

We are currently looking for Equipment Responsible Engineers for our daily operations within both Upstream and Downstream, but also within our large-scale CAPEX projects.
We are looking to double the size of our teams, so if you are excited about jumping on board during a time of exponential growth with opportunities for learning and a culture that cultivates curiosity then this might be for you!

The work we do at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies (FDB) has never been more important—and we are looking for talented candidates to join us at our site in Hillerød. We’re growing our locations, our capabilities, and our teams, and we are therefore looking for passionate, mission-driven people like you who want to make a real difference in people’s lives.

About the roles
The overall responsibility of Process Engineering is to secure that the upstream and downstream manufacturing equipment (all our process equipment is large-scale stainless-steel equipment) is available for manufacturing when needed.

The tasks include systematic problem solving for troubleshooting activities, driving changes to the process equipment to improve robustness, and support our stakeholders during investigations. You will have your own area of responsibility but work closely together with the team as we have a strong sense of urgency and support each other every day regardless of individual responsibility.

Your responsibilities could look like this
Whether you have preferences to work within the Upstream area, where fermentation and centrifugation processes are paramount or whether you prefer the downstream area where purification processes including chromatography and filtration steps lie, then below are some examples of tasks:

  • Provide engineering technical support and troubleshooting for either upstream or downstream process equipment
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement changes and/or improve existing processes
  • Perform Engineering Subject Matter Expert assessments for deviation investigations
  • To provide input and/or drive risk assessments as required
  • Support tech transfer activities of new processes from customers
  • To support Factory Acceptance Test / Site Acceptance Test (FAT/SAT), commissioning, validation, and qualification of new process equipment
  • Focus on operational robustness and cost efficiency in everyday work and processes. Drive, support, and perform assessments based on impact and effort for prioritization.
  • Provide training as needed to ensure production team understands equipment functionalities.
  • Communicate progress, status, and issues to stakeholders and upper management.
  • Participation in the engineering on-call program (on a rotational basis when equipment is taken into use)

The area
Process Technology is a group of +100 employees that includes 5 departments: Automation, Process Engineering, Validation, Engineering Science and CAD services. We provide support to site-wide projects by offering our expertise as Automation, Process and Validation Engineers and we maintain overall responsibility for ensuring smooth daily operation including engineering technical leadership, and engineering technical support for all cell culture, purification, and pharmaceutical processing equipment.

The teams
Depending on your area of interest, two teams are primarily supporting the daily operations in our existing facility and the other teams support the strategic projects with our coming facilities. Although divided into separate teams, we strive to act as one team by moving tasks between the teams. “One dream, one team” is our motto!
Additionally, all areas consist of very dedicated and competent employees who help each other to succeed in reaching a common goal. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are therefore key words.
We offer a culture with happiness at work – where there is room for professional discussions as well as a good laugh. What we need from you is to be curious, be a team player, be responsible, and be able to communicate with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree within Engineering or similar discipline within Life Science; alternatively, you hold a Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering (Maskinmester)
  • Experience working with equipment in a commercial GMP environment is a big advantage
  • Solid knowledge of stainless steel process equipment
  • A hands-on approach to the process equipment
  • Enjoy working as part of a team but also possessing the confidence to work independently
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written
  • Curiosity and strong sense of urgency
  • Strong personal drive, self-motivating and result-oriented

We are looking for people with a can-do attitude and energy, people who are comfortable working in an ever-changing environment. We hope to find someone who possess excellent collaboration skills with an understanding of the importance of teamwork. Further to this, someone who is solution oriented and accountable.

In return we can offer you
