About us
CHIP is an international research center at Rigshospitalet. We are a dynamic interdisciplinary international group with approx. 90 full-time employees working in medical and public health research, IT development and data management, statistics and bioinformatics and other areas. CHIP is a leading center in the development and coordination of international clinical and observational studies involving patients with HIV and other infectious diseases such as COVID-19, hepatitis, and tuberculosis, primarily from clinics in Europe.

Your tasks
You will be part of CHIP IT, which is an integral part of CHIP with 14 employees divided into developers and data managers. There is an informal and nice environment where we prioritize taking care of each other, although we are also busy developing and further improving the databases used for CHIP’s research. You will work closely with CHIP's other researchers, project managers and partners. As IT Developer, you will play an important role and can expect many versatile and challenging tasks, including:
- Develop and maintain an overview of project data
- Document and update overview of data sources and the flow of data from data source to research result
- Develop, document, maintain and improve IT processes
- Develop and manage the project databases to ensure that they support the changing internal and external needs.
About you
You must - like the position – be an enthusiast Junior developer with a natural curiosity for coding and Data. You will work closely with our data managers, developers, and research teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
More specifically, we would like you to meet a good number of the following requirements:
- Experience with relational databases (MS SQL Server preferred).
- Strong foundation in SQL programming (T-SQL preferred).
- Ability to follow coding standards and good practices (e.g., clean, readable syntax, in-line-comments and version control).
- Understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts.
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with data technologies.
- You have experience in documenting data streams and processes for process optimization.
- You are familiar with tools such as SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio), Azure data studio, vscode, visual studio, Azure DevOps.
- You understand the fundaments of Agile development.
- You are good at communicating in English (required) and Danish (preferred); multiple languages are also an advantage.

Salary and employment conditions
The position is full time (37 hours per week) with start-up 1 February 2025. The position is 2-year with a good opportunity for permanent employment, depending on future grants.
Salary and employment conditions follow the agreement between the Capital Region of Denmark and the relevant professional organization.
You will be employed in the Capital Region, Rigshospitalet. The workplace is CHIP (Øster Alle 56, Parken) with reference to IT Team Leader.
