Graduate for Onshore Project Development
Ørsted
The Ørsted Global Graduate Programme is designed to unleash your potential. We offer you an intense two-year developmental journey where you’ll learn from experts within your field and get diverse project experience, develop transferable skills, and build a strong cross-functional network with other talents.
The graduate journey
Our Global Graduate Programme consists of three rotations, where you’ll solve business challenges, take responsibility for your own assignments, and engage in our day-to-day business decisions.
You’ll work within the UK Onshore team involved in the origination and development of wind and solar sites. You'll gain valuable insights into a wide range of disciplines and fields, including developing an understanding of the UK consenting regimes, land, property, and technical challenges, and collaborating with in-house and external experts to deliver a pipeline of onshore projects. The rotations will be based on your interests and career aspirations but will include onshore business development and M&A. Your third rotation may include offshore. On occasion you’ll be required to travel around the UK to visit prospective and development sites and there’s potential for one of the rotations to be abroad.
You’ll play an important role in:
- assessing new greenfield opportunities for onshore wind and solar developments across the UK, ensuring commercial viability
- supporting the negotiation and completion of land agreements required as part of an onshore development
- assisting in the project management of a wide range of disciplines to deliver projects through the development process
- developing an in-depth understanding of the differing planning and consenting regimes across England and Scotland and assisting in the consenting of projects
- supporting the screening and evaluating of investment opportunities in the onshore market through financial modelling and market research.
To succeed in this role, you:
- have completed a bachelor’s or a master's degree in engineering, sciences, planning, or similar by 1 September 2025
- have a maximum of one year of full-time, relevant work experience between your master's completion and 1 September 2025 OR 1-2 years of full-time, relevant work experience between your bachelor’s completion and 1 September 2025
- can handle several tasks simultaneously and thrive in a changeable environment
- can communicate clearly and concisely, especially when dealing with complex material
- are motivated by solving technical challenges individually as well as part of a team
- have strong communication skills and are fluent in both spoken and written English.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
