Software Engineer

LEGO Koncernen

Job Description
Can you picture yourself shaping the future of how LEGO creates our signature exciting presentation of our products?
Join our highly collaborative team to explore opportunities where LEGO products are digitally presented and bring your engineering experience into play so our content eco-system is evolved into the future Product Experience/Information Management (PXM/PIM).

We have identified a huge potential in how we present products for various purposes and channels. Therefore, we are changing the way we think about commercial content and how it is activated in all the situations where our users experience LEGO products. In short, we have enormous amounts of great content to show, and we have plenty ofinteraction points with users. What we need, is to change how we select, optimize and feed the best product presentation content for the specific purpose.

To achieve this, we’re expanding our team and seeking a passionate Software Engineer who can meet high business expectations with innovative technical solutions.

No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Core Responsibilities
As we implement our new PXM/PIM platform into existing workflows, we anticipate various challenges and opportunities - some we’ve identified, others we’ll discover along the way.

We will define data models, integrate with existing systems, optimize processes with end users, analyze data, and innovate our approach to “content". You’ll join a team with a great foundation and growing demand for solutions, setting you up for success.

You'll play a key role in the team that both owns current automation and drives the change with a new platform. While investing in a new modern platform for the area, success requires seamless integration with internal systems under development and supporting workflow evolution in our commercial branches.

Your responsibilities will go beyond coding phenomenal APIs and building robust data integrations. You’ll connect with our users, understanding their challenges to deliver impactful solutions. This role demands technical expertise, user empathy, a practical attitude, and belief in our vision.

Play your part in our team succeeding
The Partner Experience Area is part of our mission to deliver the best digital experience for commercial partners. We focus on establishing global standards for content creation, curation, and optimization, enabling data-driven decisions, reducing manual workarounds, and presenting LEGO products in the best possible way across all digital channels. The tools we provide makes a huge difference to the people in our commercial offices around the world and in digital teamsbuilding engaging applications.

Join our Copenhagen-based Product Experience/Information Management team, collaborating closely with colleagues in Billund, London, Boston, Shanghai, and beyond. We work three days a week in the office, balancing focus time and team collaboration. Our culture is built around playful interaction and teamwork.

A typical day could involve pair programming with a teammate to implement a new feature, diving into a workshop to design an integration pattern, or reviewing pull requests. You could also be exploring ways to address data issues or brainstorming with our commercial partners to streamline workflows. Every day offers variety, impact, and opportunities to collaborate.

Our department typically relies on the following tools, languages and technologies (all in a backend context): Typescript, Node.js, (introducing Go), AWS (CDK, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, etc), Elastic/Elasticsearch & some rational databases. Expect also to be working with Akeneo PIM. We like to build exciting things with boring technology but value a no-fuss best tool for a particular task.

While we are currently looking to strengthen the PXM/PIM team there will be opportunities to join other teams down the road, ensuring flexibility and supporting your personal growth. Collaboration is key to our success. As part of a team, you’ll align with others, communicate daily, and share knowledge to ensure transparency. Together we strive to be one team, helping and supporting each other to achieve extraordinary things, together.

Do you have what it takes?
You love building great products as part of a team and empowering and mentoring others. Teaching your skills and approaches comes naturally to you, and you’re always open to learning in return. As a problem solver, you focus on crafting the best solution, tackling technical challenges, and ensuring all requirements are met and delivered.

Furthermore, you'll do well in this role if you:

  • Have experience building distributed cloud systems at scale, using infrastructure-as-code, event driven principles, and our tech stack.
  • Have worked with Product Information/Experience Management, Master Data Management, or similar systems related to commercial product content.

  • Know CI/CD workflows, e.g. GitHub Actions, and advocate automation.
  • Excel at evolving existing systems into next-generation services, not just greenfield development.
  • Are flexible and open to working with different product teams when needed, adapting to new challenges and contributing where your expertise can make the greatest impact.
  • You have excellent spoken and written English skills.
