ABOUT THE JOB
The overall role of community liaison assistant liaises with the communities/ local stakeholders to facilities the demining operation, particularly focusing on areas where DRC is planning future clearance projects. Providing report to the site operation officer or project manager.
Responsibilities:
- The community liaison assistant should have the ability to deliver the basic messages to the community, and be able to recognize and recommend further communication by DRC teams where necessary (especially in areas where due to cultural sensitivities).
- Before any team/ section deploys, the community liaison assistant must insure to have the information specific to the district provided from the OPS department.
- Obtain all appropriate information from official government bodies (Government /Police/Military) in the area of operations.
- Be aware of the security alerts and evacuation routes in case of security collapse in the area of operations. Establish an evacuation plan.
- Coordinate with Logistics, Supply Chain, and Administration teams to address the logistical needs of newly employed teams as well as current teams in the field.
- Issue stationery and other equipment to EORE teams and staff based on operational needs.
- Establish and maintain Liaison with local authorities and community.
- Maintain good discipline within the team/sections and in compound.
- Undertake any other tasks as ordered by HDP TL.
- Support all teams and offices regarding the logistic affairs and equipment and other related issues
- Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you must have:
Experience and technical competencies:
At Least 1 years’ experience in:
- Coordinating between local authorities, government bodies, and field teams.
- Managing logistical support, including handling equipment, resources, and operational matters, or a demonstrated ability to coordinate and support teams effectively.
- Working with diverse teams and maintaining effective communication across cultural boundaries.
Education/qualifications:
- High school or equivalent diploma from a recognized learning institution.
Languages:
- Pashto and Dari –fluency
- English - basic
