Environmental Permitting and Compliance-Intern 2025
Ørsted
Join us in this role where you’ll work closely with our permitting, biological, development, compliance, and regulatory teams to create deliverables to support Orsted’s renewable energy portfolio
Welcome to Permitting, Environmental, and Marine Affairs (PEMA)
You’ll be part of Permitting, Environmental, and Marine Affairs Team where you, together with your colleagues, will help drive permitting success, identifying potential environmental and social risks, and finding inventive solutions to ensure our green energy projects are both commercially viable and have a net-positive impact on surrounding communities and biodiversity. As a team, we take a science-based approach to ensuring that we avoid, minimize, and mitigate impacts, while collaborating with our colleagues in various Orsted departments.
You’ll play an important role in:
- working with key PEMA stakeholders to support project activities ranging from onshore technologies with solar, wind, and battery storage to offshore technologies
- participating in key workstreams to advance efforts to improve efficiency
- researching potential permitting regulations, requirements, and risks for key states and federal jurisdictions
- creating tools and tracking sheets to better understand competitors and stakeholders
- presenting findings to the PEMA Management Team and other stakeholders within Orsted.
To succeed in the role, you:
- communicate effectively with both your stakeholders and colleagues
- have exposure to coursework or internships where you have actively studied regulatory, environmental, and social considerations for renewable energy projects
- plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
- share information that people want to know and give appropriate context and details when speaking
- have working knowledge of key issues and regulations relevant to renewable energy
- have a high degree of proficiency with MS Office suite, especially MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
