Job description
We are looking for a GNSS Navigation Engineer, highly proactive and eager to bring new ideas, to join our team to support our client SpaceOpal in Munich, Germany.

Responsibilities
Your tasks will typically include but are not limited to:

• Design, develop and maintain navigation algorithms, GNSS data analysis software tools and automated processing chains
• Analyze GNSS data to investigate anomalies and derive performance parameters
• Prepare technical documentation (requirements, verification plan, verification reports, service impact analysis)
• Liaise with the network of GNSS experts available for questions introduced by the users or the Customer related to the consolidation of the Galileo services.
• Maintenance of High Accuracy User Terminals and proposal for evolution of the same
• Mastering the PPP platform of SpaceOpal (NAVCAST) and its components

This is a full-time position, located at SpaceOpal, Munich, and at the GCC-D (Oberpfaffenhofen, Munich, Germany), with expected starting date ASAP.

It could be necessary to participate to meetings in other relevant project locations in Europe.

Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory, as English is the working language.

The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require proactivity and focus on bringing innovative ideas, in terms of solutions, transformative technologies, agile processes and other disruptive changes.

Qualifications & Competencies
You shall have an academic degree and experience in following areas:

• Knowledge of satellite navigation principles, algorithms (including PPP), standard data formats and related protocols
• Over 3-year experience in GNSS SW development in C++/python/MATLAB.
• Desirable experience with Orbit Determination tools (e.g. Bernese)
• Desirable experience with Linux, software configuration control, continuous integration and testing, and container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Versatility: capable of blending technical and marketing skills.
• Valuable assets would also be commercial experience, knowledge on the Galileo system and applications especially (including devices) and technical background on space operations.
• EU citizenship is necessary.
