Camp Management and Camp Coordination Officer

The CCCM Officer reporting to CCCM manager /Team Leader will play a key role in ensuring effective implementation of DRC’s CCCM Static responses in Manyo County and ensuring coordinating and managing activities in displacement sites to ensure effective service delivery, community engagement, and protection. Key duties include overseeing site management, facilitating participatory, and capacity building of governance structures, ensuring compliance with humanitarian standards, addressing gaps in assistance, and promoting accountability. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders, capacity building for actors, and monitoring site conditions to ensure the safety and dignity of displaced populations.

Geographic Scope: Area: This position has a localized focus, ensuring adherence to DRC procedures and guidelines within the assigned area. The role contributes to the development of area-specific strategies, translating them into actionable plans and daily tasks while providing support and technical guidance to base operations.

Responsibilities:
Coordination, Site Monitoring, and Community Engagement:

• Coordinate humanitarian services within displacement sites to ensure they are effective and non-duplicative. This include coordination of assessment and services delivery to identify gaps or issues and addressed them promptly.
• Maintaining
• Facilitate and maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including community leaders, humanitarian partners, and local authorities.
• Monitor site conditions and service delivery to identify gaps or issues and address them promptly.
• Facilitate participatory approaches to engage communities in decision-making and site management processes.
• Establish and support site-level governance structures such as committees, ensuring inclusive representation of all groups.

Project Implementation, Data collection, and reporting

• Develop and implement work plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and timeline.
• Ensure efficient use of resources, including staff, materials, and funding, to meet project objectives.
• Oversee the day-to-day management of displacement sites, including infrastructure and service delivery.
• Track progress against project indicators and objectives through regular assessments and data collection
• Conduct site assessments and collect data to inform CCCM planning and resource allocation.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on site conditions, needs, and activities to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of CCCM implemented activities in the site.

Capacity Building, Accountability, and protection mainstreaming.

• Provide capacity building trainings for CCCM assistant staffs, partners, and community governance structures in CCCM principles, roles, responsibilities, and practices.
• Promote knowledge-sharing and strengthen the capacity of site governance structures.
• Ensure protection mainstreaming in CCCM activities, identifying and mitigating risks.
• Promote accountability through transparent communication, effective management of CFM mechanisms, and provide timely feedback.
• Safeguard the dignity and rights of displaced persons in all CCCM activities.
• Identify camp-specific issues and facilitate the input of IDP groups to propose adequate rapid solutions ensuring the provision of CCCM services and the maintenance of camp management structures in such site
• Ensure compliance with safety SOPs, MOSS, etc., for example, keeping abreast of relevant documentation and procedures;
• Ensure activities are reported on in timely manner.
• Perform any other tasks required by the CCCM manager relevant to implementation of CCCM activities in Fashoda County.

Experience and technical competencies:

• Minimum two years’ experience working in CCCM sector with an INGO in a formal or informal camp setting
• Willingness to live and work in a challenging environment with limited resources
• Understanding of or formal training in CCCM and/or protection principles and practice
• Computer literacy
• University degree in political science, law, community development or other relevant fields.
