The Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) unit is accelerating the deployment of advanced financial crime prevention capabilities to meet regulatory expectations continuously and to become a leader in fighting financial crime.
As part of this, the FCP Sanctions Advisory is looking to hire a new colleague to join the team.
We are open to receiving applications from candidates based in either Stockholm, Copenhagen or Helsinki.
What you will be doing
You will be part of Sanctions Advisory function within the Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) organization. The function is responsible for providing expert advice on complex sanctions matters across SEB Group and ensuring compliance with all applicable sanctions regimes. We provide support and expertise on sanctions matters to our stakeholders in different geographies and divisions.
As a Senior Sanctions Officer you will be responsible for
- Interpretation of sanctions regimes, including but not limited to European Union, United Nations, United States (OFAC), United Kingdom (OFSI) and locally applicable lists
- Handling complex sanctions and sanctions circumvention matters and escalations across all business lines
- Monitoring of the relevant external regulatory developments, enabling the implementation of preventive actions and effective controls
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of escalation processes and operating model
- Representing the function in different forums and cooperate with internal and external stakeholders, such as authorities and other banks
- Contributing to a learning culture by sharing knowledge and training key stakeholders across SEB
Who we are looking for
- 5+ years previous sanctions experience is essential
- Strong working knowledge of EU, UN, OFAC and UK sanctions regimes and its implementation
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Confident and articulate individual who can converse at all levels within the organization
- Ability to build collaborative and trustworthy relationships with a wide array of stakeholders
- Knowledge of financial products and the payment systems
- Analytic mindset with the ability to process large amount of information
- Proactive approach to identify opportunities to enhance and develop existing processes
- An academic degree in relevant field
