The position
As our new Associate Scientist your key responsibility will be to support our biomarker projects by establishing, qualifying, and employing assays to measure soluble biomarkers.
You will be part of a team of 7-8 highly skilled and self-motivated scientists and technicians, and you will be working in a lab with state-of-the-art analytical equipment for immunoassays.
Your role will be to:
- Conduct a significant amount of laboratory-based work, i.e., immunoassays such as ELISA, MSD, Gyrolab, and AlphaLisa.
- Design and plan experiments to establish new assays together with scientists at the department.
- Identify and solve experimental issues.
- Perform and report quantitative bioanalysis of human and animal study samples.
Qualifications
- You hold a master´s degree in life sciences (biotechnology, immunology, biomedicine, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline) preferably with ≥ 2 years laboratory experience from an industry or academic setting.
- You have solid hands-on experience working with different immunoassays such as ELISA, AlphaLisa, and/or MSD.
- Flair for programming or statistics, automated or semi-automated instrumentation will be considered an advantage.
- You have a strong drive, a quality mindset, and a talent for troubleshooting.
In addition, as a person you have a positive, curious, and collaborative mindset, with great interpersonal skills that allow you to build fruitful relations with both colleagues and stakeholders.
About the department
At the Biomarker Assay Development department, we establish and qualify biomarker assays to support drug discovery, and we deliver biomarker data that is key for maturing the next generation of drugs changing the lives for patients with chronic and rare diseases.
Our department consists of three teams and 26 highly skilled and self-motivated scientists and technicians. We collaborate and share knowledge to benefit each other and ultimately the patients, and our team is currently expanding. We are experts in ligand binding and receptor occupancy assays, which are routinely applied for quantification of biomarkers.
Biomarker Assay Development is part of Global Translation, an organisational area responsible for application of translational methodologies across all the therapy areas in Novo Nordisk. Global Translation is part of Novo Nordisk´s Research & Early Development and is located in Måløv, Greater Copenhagen. Our ambitious goal is to ensure early, data driven decision making in clinical trials by application of biomarkers of target engagement, proof-of-mechanism, and proof-of-concept.
