We are looking for a Competition Lawyer to join our Legal team in Copenhagen as Senior Legal Counsel.
We offer you an opportunity to be a legal trusted advisor for all the investment areas acting as the legal anchor on all competition law matters, including on merger control and foreign direct investment filings.

The Job
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will in this newly established role, join the Danish part of our legal team and carry out both the day-to-day operations as well as our deliveries to fulfil the legal key strategic initiatives and goals in all matters related to competition law. You will report to the Senior Associate General Counsel.
Your main tasks will be to:
- Be responsible for general competition law matters for Novo Holdings, including all merger control and foreign direct investment filings
- Ensure legal compliance and legal risk management and address competition law matters
- Conduct and arrange training sessions on competition law across the organisation
- Support a broad range of transactional projects, including acquisitions & divestments
- Participate in the deal teams across all the investment’s areas acting as the legal anchor for competition law aspects of deals
- Support relevant asset teams across Novo Holdings’ portfolio companies in, for example, follow-on investments, and corporate housekeeping tasks
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders during the legal workstreams
- Review and continuously optimise and share the best-in class legal processes and governance practices
- Contribute to fulfil the legal key strategic initiatives and goals
The Legal team consists of 9 lawyers and has a presence in Copenhagen, Boston, San Francisco and Singapore. You will enjoy the opportunity to be part of a dedicated, international, ambitious, and connected team that are value-driven and respect and appreciate each other.
Professional Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with:
- A Master’s degree in law (LL.M)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience post degree from a top tier law firm or as in-house counsel with significant competition law experience
- A strong track record of international M&A transactional experience, including merger control filings in multiple jurisdictions (both control acquisitions and minority investments) as well as foreign direct investment filings
- Great abilities to interact and build relations with various stakeholders at all levels
- Strong business understanding
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
