Join us as our new Laboratory Technician for fresh dairy applications
We are strengthening the team to become even better at supporting our customers around the globe expertise in production of fresh dairy products. For this we are looking for a highly skilled laboratory technician, food or dairy technologist to conduct trials with our cultures and enzymes in fresh dairy applications, and support on analysis of dairy products made by our customers, or produced by us in in our own labs and pilot facility.

Welcome to Fresh Dairy Applications
You will become part the global Fresh Dairy department in Denmark which is anchored within a larger Fresh Dairy Application organization with teams in France, USA, China, and Malaysia. Located in Hoersholm, our team has a global role and collaborates closely with Business development, Marketing, R&D, local application teams, Sales, and our customers all over the world. The department in Denmark is composed of 25 highly skilled scientists and technicians, who are divided in two teams with different areas of responsibility –new product development and technical support – yet working closely together.

The Technical support team supports Fresh Dairy customers around the globe with troubleshooting, new product formulation, reformulation of existing products, production line optimization and analysis of customer samples (probiotic cell count, texture, contaminants etc…). The team also develops and produces dairy product prototypes demonstrating the performance of Novonesis culture and enzyme biosolutions. Finally, the team is responsible for food safety. We are working with customers – directly, and in many cases also in close collaboration with our local Novonesis teams and application labs around the globe.

As global technical support, we have the responsibility of creating technical material, digital support tools, and conduct training for both customers and for our colleagues. In addition to the customer technical support tasks, we also have a role as sparring partners for Production and Business Development around quality of our cultures and enzymes biosolutions.

In this role you’ll make an impact through…
…a combination of miscellaneous laboratory trials and analyses – both chemical, physical and mechanical for customer support tasks and development projects that the team is involved in. Further, production of dairy products, in the lab and in our pilot facilities. The tasks are usually organized in corporation with a scientist in the team.

The following tasks are part of your role with us:

• Planning, design, and conduct analysis in the lab, eg. microbiology, pH, texture, and chemical composition
• Planning, design and production of dairy products
• Collect, and report results
• Participate in sensory analysis/tasting of dairy products
• Participate in training of customers, colleagues and students
• Be part of implementation of new equipment as well as perform calibration of equipment
• Comply to Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) for analysis and production, and contribute to the preparation and updating
• Undertake duties to maintain smooth functioning of production facility and laboratories shared between technicians the Dairy & Dairy Alternative Applied R&D organization
• Actively interact with technicians and scientists and raise your opinion to influence and optimize our ways of working

To succeed you must hold:
We are looking for a Laboratory technician (laborant), food or dairy technologist (fødevareteknolog) or similar education, preferably with experience within analysis or production of food products.

We are looking for a colleague who can see themselves in the following descriptions:

• You like working in teams, have good corporation skills, and have a focus to make things succeed
• You are structured, good in planning and quality-oriented
• You should be okay with tasks sometimes appears at short notice
• You relate critically to the tasks
• You possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• You are proficient in English as a lot of communication with colleagues and customers is in English.

Experience in working with lactic acid bacteria, eg. cell count and with enzymes is an advantage, but if you don’t have it you will get to learn it.
