Scientist - Resistance mechanisms in Cancer at Minerva Imaging

MINERVA IMAGING ApS

What are we looking for?
Minerva Imaging is offering a wide range of services, and we are now looking for a candidate to expand the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. The ideal candidate has a great scientific understanding of resistance mechanisms in cancer and DNA damage response combined with a strong hands-on experience in rodent tumor models and molecular assay development.

About us
Minerva Imaging’s vision is to become the leading contract research and contract development organization for targeted radionuclide therapy, enabling improved treatment regimens for patients with an emphasis on oncology and cardiovascular diseases. Our focus is on in vitro assays and the use of advanced animal models for in vivo and ex vivo molecular imaging for translational research and drug development.

We aim to excel in delivering customized cancer radiopharmaceutical research and serve as an extended research team to our collaborators. We have built a global leading R&D Contract Research Organization (CRO) for targeted radionuclide therapy and a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) to enable integrated planning and faster execution of promising new radionuclide theragnostic projects in close collaboration with leading researchers, biotech, and pharmaceutical companies.

Minerva is at the forefront of R&D in the theragnostic area. We are in a very fast-paced environment, where our researchers directly impact the advancement of new improved, and lifesaving drugs for seriously ill cancer patients. We have the ambition to make a difference for our clients, collaborating on advancing new treatment modalities for patients.

Your tasks:

  • Plan and execute external and internal research activities within oncology
  • Drive the development and characterization of radiation resistant models in patient derived tumors and cell lines across departments
  • Plan and conduct rodent tumor studies as well as histological and molecular analysis, including handling of radioactive materials
  • Characterize and provide mechanism-of-action data for drug candidates primarily within targeted radionuclide therapy
  • Write study protocols, analyze data, and report study results
  • Communicate with all stakeholders both internal and external, from technicians to sponsor representatives
  • Supervise younger scientists and technicians

Required qualifications:

  • PhD degree within natural or life sciences or substantial working experience in a relevant filed
  • Great scientific understanding in mechanisms of resistance in cancer and DNA damage response
  • Hands on technical expertise in animal handling and study conduct (FELASA certified), histology and molecular analysis
  • Strong analytical mindset combined with a make it work attitude
  • Ability to plan, execute and report internal and external projects
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral
  • Previous experience in studying responses to radiation and omics data analysis is considered as an advantage

As a person you:

  • Thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, service organization where our collaborators rely on our ability to run the extra mile
  • Think independently and act as a responsible colleague who is comfortable speaking your mind
  • Have a strong interest in working hands-on with animal models, histology and molecular assays
  • Take responsibility for driving key project activities to completion
  • Are social, positive and bring a lot of drive
  • Can work independently but also as a team player in an international environment
