The position
As a Pilot Scientist at Novo Nordisk, you will:
- Drive the preparation, execution, and closure of API manufacturing campaigns from initial contact with Development Departments/CMOs to QA release.
- Act as a sparring partner with chemists in the development department to ensure a robust process is developed and instruct pilot technicians to produce safely.
- Guide and share knowledge with colleagues and process technicians regarding GMP and campaign activities.
- Continuously improve and optimise our processes and the way we work.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A master’s degree in chemistry, biotechnology, engineering, or a similar field.
- Knowledge of purification, spray drying and GMP is an advantage but not a requirement.
- Relevant experience from a production or pilot production will also be an advantage.
- Fluency in both English and Danish.
On a personal level, you are a team player with a great sense of humour. You are well structured, have good planning skills and are prepared to learn how a pilot plant is operated. We expect you to have excellent collaboration skills since the job involves collaboration across different areas with people from different backgrounds.
About the department
As part of the Novo Nordisk PSQIT organisation, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development & Scaling makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture, and distribute drug candidates for clinical trials and have a strong culture with a “can do” mindset.
In the Chemistry Pilot Plant, we are responsible for the production of API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) for clinical studies, including chemical synthesis, chromatographic purification, and spray drying. The department is part of Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control API Pilots (CMC API Pilots). We handle the production of API for all development projects within Novo Nordisk, encompassing fermentation, cultivation, chemical synthesis, and purification.
