Peacebuilding Intern- Temporary Worker

Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a Temporary Peacebuilding Intern to join our Team in Tripoli, Libya.
About the Job:
The Peacebuilding Intern will support the Peacebuilding Team in implementing research, data management, and field activities. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in peacebuilding initiatives within a professional humanitarian organization.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist in data entry, cleaning, and management for ongoing research projects.
- Support in organizing and maintaining databases for peacebuilding activities and research findings.
- Conduct basic desk research on assigned topics related to peacebuilding and community engagement.
- Organize and archive research documents, reports, and files in line with DRC’s file management protocols.
- Maintain an updated directory of research materials and peacebuilding tools.
- Assist the Peacebuilding Team with daily administrative tasks, including preparing meeting notes, organizing schedules, and coordinating activities.
- Participate in team discussions and brainstorming sessions.
- Join field visits with the Peacebuilding Team to implement activities in municipalities outside Tripoli.
- Communicate with key stakeholders to coordinate activities for the Peacebuilding Team.
Experience and Technical Competencies:
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Law, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with non-governmental organizations, either as a volunteer or in a professional capacity.
- Basic understanding of data entry and management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to diverse working environments.
- Willingness to travel to field locations within west Libya.
Learning Opportunities:

Working Hours and Conditions:
- The intern is expected to commit to full-time working hours, 3 days on-site, and 2 days remote, with some flexibility for field visits as required.
- All travel expenses related to field visits will be covered by DRC following organizational policies.
